The qualifications need no former knowledge of Health and Safety and is therefore ideal as part of a company health and safety induction program, but it could also form part of ongoing refresher training designed to improve the health and safety culture in a workplace. Candidates could also use the qualification as part of relevant courses being taken in schools and colleges. Health and Safety in the Workplace - Level 2The aim of the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is to provide candidates with knowledge of the basic Health and Safety practices that are essential in the workplace. This includes the hazards and risks presented in the workplace along with the relevant legislation, and ensures awareness of cost-effective, practical control methods. The qualification is applicable for any private or public sector working environment and provides employees with an awareness of their own safety, as well as the safety of customers, contractors and members of the public. The achievement of the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification will enable learners to work safely and to recognize and deal with hazards in the workplace. The Ofqual approved Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification has been developed specifically for insertion onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework with full support from ENTO. It is therefore fully cognizant with industry and regulatory standards as well as being recognized by The Health and Safety Executive, Auditors and other Enforcement Officers. Health and Safety for Retail - Level 1This qualification focuses on the importance of maintaining health and safety in the retail sector and the role employees need to play to ensure the safety of themselves, colleagues and customers in store. Candidates will learn the importance of lifting and handling goods properly and the procedures to follow in emergency situations with particular focus on customer safety. The importance of following company health and safety rules and procedures will be understood. Health and Safety for Carers - Level 1This qualification focuses on the importance of maintaining health and safety in the care sector. An understanding of how to contribute to safely moving and handling individuals and the health and safety of individuals in their daily living will be gained. The importance of the maintenance of a safe and clean environment in a variety of settings will be understood. The necessity to follow company health and safety rules and procedures will also be understood. Conflict ManagementThe ability to deal with people is even more important today with the pressures of our fast-paced environment. This course will help you reflect on your current approach in handling conflict so that you are aware of areas you need to improve upon. Disengagement and Physical Intervention SkillsWe have realized that for a long time now it has been professionally recognized that in many other work environments, Physical Intervention Skills are needed to reduce the use of High Risk Techniques that will also improve staff and customer safety.
